HOW IT WORKS → Form Communities
Communities are crucial
Families were never meant to raise children alone.
We need meaningful experiences and relationships beyond our direct family.
Joy grows when it is shared.
Faith deepens when it is practiced together.
Children thrive when they belong to something larger than themselves.
Christ-centered communities provide a place where families can gather, grow, and support one another in purpose and love.
We all participate in many kinds of communities, with different levels of alignment to truth, righteousness, and light. We invite you to be intentional, when appropriate and possible, about bringing Jesus Christ into the spaces you influence.
This can be simple:
- offering a prayer
- including His name in a mission statement
- sharing inspired words
- encouraging others with hope
The name of Jesus Christ is the Standard that helps focus hearts and align purpose.
Belonging Beyond the Home
As children grow — especially between ages 9–16 — they naturally begin to expand their sense of belonging and need meaningful interactions beyond their immediate family.
This is a crucial season.
Healthy group experiences help children:
- develop identity
- practice relationships
- learn leadership and service
- feel known and valued
Intentional communities provide a safe place for this growth to happen.
Types of Community
Community takes many forms. Each matters.
Extended Family
In fast-paced, task-oriented life, it’s easy to overlook opportunities to strengthen bonds with siblings, cousins, grandparents, and extended relatives.
Simple rhythms — shared meals, celebrations, hikes, group chats — can go a long way in building belonging and meaning.
Church Community
We encourage active participation in your local church congregation, where worship, service, and covenant life are practiced together. Jesus Christ has organized groups of like-minded saints all over the world.

Homeschool Co-ops
Homeschool co-ops offer a unique opportunity for families to gather intentionally around learning, culture, and shared values.
Resources to help you strengthen or start a co-op are available in our Resources section.
Everyday Community
We also encourage engagement in your local geographic community.
Bring the mindset, attitude, and lifestyle of a disciple of Christ wherever you go —
on a sports team, in a classroom, at dance practice, while volunteering, shopping, or driving.
Every place we show up is an opportunity to carry light.
