About Us - The JOY Standard
Why this exists

The Joy Standard exists to help families and communities create places where joy can endure.

It grew out of lived experience, families gathering, teaching children, navigating challenges, and discovering that joy is not accidental. It is protected by alignment, shared values, and a clear center.

At the heart of everything we share is Jesus Christ, the living Son of God. His restored gospel and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are a great blessing to us we want to share with all.

When Christ is placed at the center of our lives — in our minds, our homes, and our communities — order replaces confusion, belonging replaces isolation, and joy becomes possible even in difficulty.

Where this work comes from

The Joy Standard reflects more than a decade of experience building and sustaining Christ-centered family communities, particularly homeschool co-ops and youth programs. As interest in our model has grown, we have decided to gather and share insights and support in this community of communities.

What began as a group of mothers seeking connection for our kids, that slowly became something more enduring — a way of living and gathering that supported:

- families and marriages

- children and youth development

- shared leadership

- deep belonging

- long-term sustainability

The systems shared here were not designed in theory.
They were discovered through practice, prayer, and refinement over time.

Our approach

We believe:

  1. joy is a divine indicator of alignment
  2. structure can protect what is sacred
  3. families are the foundation of community
  4. youth thrive when trusted with responsibility
  5. Christ-centered communities require both charity and clarity

We share principles, not prescriptions.

What works in one place may need to be adapted in another. We invite prayerful discernment and thoughtful application rather than rigid duplication.

SabrinaJill.com Art, Gratitude & artistic contribution

The visual language of The Joy Standard is deeply influenced by sacred Christian art that helps the heart understand what words sometimes cannot.

We are especially grateful to Sabrina Jill, whose artwork appears throughout this site.

Her depictions of Christ, sanctuary, and gathering beautifully echo the themes of refuge, belonging, and divine order that this work seeks to express. She has generously allowed the use of her art and accompanying videos to help illuminate gospel truths.

We encourage you to explore more of her work and teachings here:
